It used to be a Nicholson file from the 50's or 60's.
Amber stag handle. (India)
Turquoise, nickel and copper guard and butt cap.
Final hardness of Rockwell 58.

Made by a guy in Leesburg, Ga. Hank Hammond.

Yes, I'll be using it. I usually use a smaller caping type blade for most things.
I suspect this blade will prove more useful for hogs than deer.

Will you be skinning "buff?"

I think it would be a classy "carry" blade to take to the ghetto and stick LaRoy.

Well, the verdict is in.

It's a big, brutish blade.

The edge held up wonderfully.

It does some things better than the blade I'm used to. Others not as well.

Thanks Barndog.
I was actually looking to fill the freezer with a few does.
Unfortunately for him, this was the first time all year,
that I didn't see any does.

How many deer can you take in a season there?

12 with a basic license.
If you hunt some of the WMA hunts, you could technically take more.
Way too many in my opinion but honestly it probably doesn't matter what they set it at.
If someone wants that many deer, they will take them no matter what the rules are.
Most folks take a couple and are happy.

The ones that irritate me a little are the ones that come down from the city, shoot all they can and give them away.

We use 3 or 4 a year.
This is the first one I have put up this year.

I need a couple more.
I'm wanting to make some snack sticks. Never tried it before.

 LOL twelve deer. Geezus. I can remember one year in WI in our zone where I was able to take two deer, and I thought that was crazy. I remember hearing that down south the deer almost had a daily bag limit. Your WMA must be public land, no way would I hunt on public land anymore. Too many fuddernutter morons.

My brother for a while had something where he would grind the the venison (and add pork and whatever), then shoot it out in sticks and put it in the oven I think. Wasn't bad, was just as good as the sticks the butcher shop would make. I would have added more pepper and garlic.
