This extensive list of headlines are why the loons are the fuddernutter up hypocrites that they are. The loons are like my cat. It's whatever is in front of them is the only reality. There's no introspection, no critical thought, no big picture, no reason.

This compilation is worth perusing...

I never thought they did. They're certainly not embarrassed by it.

Agreed that it's not really hypocrisy; it's more a matter of intelligence. Liberal statements and beliefs have no thought behind them, no connection to facts or any grounding in reality. They believe things, and say things, because either (1) it will make someone on the right appear bad/wrong or (2) it will advance their cause of reducing freedom. If one day "X" accomplishes one or both of those goals they will say "X", and they will believe "X". If circumstances change and "X" now serves the purposes of their political opponents, they will say "not X", and they will believe "not X". True hypocrites would say "X" and later "not X", but would only really believe one of them. Liberals truly believe contradictory things, often simultaneously, but lack the intelligence to recognize this. The cognitive dissonance that this creates can't really be resolved so liberals have three defense mechanisms:

1. They avoid political arguments with conservatives. This is why blocking opposing views is standard practice on DU, Kos, etc., but unheard of on major conservative sites. It's why OFR liberals flee when asked a direct question.

2. They argue straw men. If presented with a situation where the conflict with "X" and "not X" is apparent, they will substitute "Y" for one of the conflicting arguments but claim, and truly believe, that they are still arguing about "X".

3. They will find a specific detail that differs between the situation where "X" applies and "not X" applies and argue that this specific detail makes the two situations completely different, even if that detail is clearly irrelevant.
