a battery died in my thermostat and ate a copper wire to death. i need to get my soldering iron out and repair it before november happens.

Have to run A/C year round? ...that sucks.

I have 2 or 3 heating days a year.

Not at all. It's comfortable and my Teutonic disposition loves it. Plus it only costs me $18.30/month...for all my electric needs. Prolly less than your bill(?)

Also, with the red dirt, if your windows are open, it gets into everything. Most evident up in the North Shore by Waialua.

My system runs on pineapples, 6 per month. And, I text surf on da coconut line fo free.
