I was waiting for a Saturday package delivery once. I paid an extra $17 or some such for next day delivery. My mailbox was across the street. I was hanging around my driveway waiting for the mail so I could leave. Mail jeep pulls up. Opens & closes my mailbox and drives off. I cross the street to find "nobody home to sign for package. come on down to the post office on Monday and pick up your package." My NEXT DAY PACKAGE.

Goes without saying, I was displeased. I called the post office and actually got through to the top dog. Told him my story. He wondered whether I had a viscous dog in my driveway. Nope. Just me & Johnny. Finally, I got it through to him that his lazy ass delivery ass had that form filled out ahead of time and had no intentions of stopping for a signature. I whined about the NEXT DAY PACKAGE. I actually got to the guy. He told me he'd take a ride and find the guy.

The jeep driving ass turned up in my driveway with my NEXT DAY DELIVERY and nary an apology. I'll bet that union jerk never even got written up.

So... this post got kinda long.

I remember posting about it when it happened. It's been almost 10 years and I'm still pissed off.

What's a viscous dog? A 5W-30 collie?

If you paid extra for next day delivery you should have demanded a refund. I feel your pain and I went through that a couple of times myself.

I think that was part of my phone rant to the supervisor. He probably got motivated when he realized he had no idea how to do a refund transaction.

first year and a half I lived in Ak, we had a great (contract) letter carrier. Packages were brought to the door for drop off or signature. Then he was gone. NEVER since then do they even try to deliver packages. They just stuff the note into the cluster box. Typically, they don't even put the note into the box until the day after the supposed attempted delivery. special place in hell...

My uSPS guy just jumps out of his buggy, runs to my door and just drops it there, then runs back and drives off.
