i'm pretty sure norm would want you to whine anyway

i doubt his intent was to make a whine so good that it shuts the forum down

Allow me to pick up the torch.

Upper left, I have a 3 tooth bridge. Both the anchor teeth have had 2 root canals each, middle tooth of course was extracted. Cost for root canals and bridge $10,000. Pain still there year after year. Had a new bridge made cost $5,000. Pain still there. 6 months ago went to a periodontist for a procedure called crown lengthening wherein the surgeon removes gum tissue, and bone. Cost $3,000. Pain still there.

Have a 4 tooth bridge- bottom right. Started as a 3 tooth bridge, cost $5,000. Tooth extracted under anesthesia, cost $1,000. Middle tooth had a third root canal that went bad. So Oral Surgeon puts me under and cuts off bottom 1/2 of my root. Didn't stop pain so surgeon goes back in and removes all of root, cost for all RC's and 2 surgeries $7,000. Again both remaining anchor teeth a total of 3 root canals, cost $3,600. Because the middle teeth are extracted or have no roots I now need a 4 tooth bridge, cost $8,000.

Here's to you Norm...

Hey, Neil! The OFR tradition is to first filter the booze through your kidneys before you put it on a fellow OFR member's grave. :D

Don't even ask about my bottom left 5 tooth bridge. I hesitate to remember all that had been done prior to that bridge.

I had no dental insurance.

I can't match that stuff. All I had was a huge boil forming on my gum under my upper lip, up by my nose. I was scared I'd need extensive gum surgery, shudder. Didn't know what it could be. I called in Monday and they had me in the chair an hour later. The dentist takes a look and said, "That looks like an infected root." I was relieved. He injected smoe stuff (after numbing it) into it to see the source of the infection, and it drained. I get penicillin and a root canal Monday, and the dentist said I'll probably need it extracted in a few years.

We get these things we've never experienced and the experts take a look and solve it because they see it all the time.

I'll whine again after the root canal, but they're not that bad.

Glad that it was nothing major Chuck. Stuff like that is always scary. Root canals are no biggy....had one last fall. The assistant was a Hillary supporter so I kept an eye on her.
