Gotta get a biopsy. That should be good for a whine or two.

Been there---done that. A needle biopsy of the prostate is very unpleasant and is literally a pain in the ass. They stick a dildo like devise up your rectum and a dozen needles shoot out one at a time to grab a tissue sample and then quickly retract. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

if prostate cancer takes 30 years to kill a person, skip the biopsy

You're certainly entitled to a whine or two for that. Especially after PH's graphic description.

Not all are slow growing. Mine was fast growing and the PSA test with biopsy saved my life. They didn't know how bad it was until it was removed and could give it a good visual examination. I'm in great shape now. Even after the prostate is removed they continue to do the PSA test since if a prostate cancer cell escaped and is growing somewhere in your body it will produce PSA (Prostate Specific Antigens). My PSA tests now come back "Undetectable". I encourage all OFR guys to get the PSA test done as part of their routine physical exam.

The prognosis is much better if it's caught early.

If I have it, I want to catch it early and try to survive it. I have a goal in life, and it will take many years to accomplish. I'm convinced that Mickey can be persuaded to become a conservative. Why? Because he's too nice a guy to be a natural liberal.
