It's a Ferrari. You're be paying a lot - hundreds more - for the accelerated graphics. That's a gaming machine. If you're using it heavily for gaming, or CAD it would be fine. For a basic work machine an I3 group processor would do. An upscale I5, or I7 group machine with a mid-range graphics card would run a less than $800 on the high end, and take care of nearly any task under the sun except intense CAD. It's really about matching the machine to the task. It's pointless to throw money at overkill.

We design homes in 3d along with working blueprints with software from Dassault (DraftSight Pro) on about the same specs as the laptop you noted in the op.

Having a "gaming" video board with lots of dedicated onboard ram is an absolute necessity for intense CAD. The better the graphics card the better the display. I run Draftsight (basic), and Inkscape on an I-3 laptop with 8gb RAM, and a pretty basic video card and both run fine. The same file will run on our shop computer with more detail. Games will display more details with the better video card with dedicated RAM.

The I-7 processor is great. The 32gb of RAM is fine. Check out video cards, and get the best one included that you can find.

Looks like a good choice for graphics driver, but there's a review out there saying that they cheaped out on the display as they thought the contrast wasn't up to highest standard. I would not let that bother me.
