I had an installing update 1 of 1 running for a half hour, and I finally just powered off my computer because it seemed to be stuck. I started it up again and I got this failed update for Windows 10. I'm running Windows 7. WTF is Microsoft trying to do, run a stealth upgrade?

YOW!!!

Pls keep us informed on this.

I have Windows update selected to NEVER check for updates but Flam suggested I check every "update Tuesday" (2nd of the month) and look at the updates.

I got that HORRENDOUS one in 2012 that took out my MS Word and did a LOT of other changes, none positive.

I do NOT want to get W10 as an automatic "update."

Thanks.

Did a system restore because it kept trying to reboot. The restore said it failed, but when I rebooted it said it had worked. It's no longer trying to reboot and it doesn't show the failed update anymore.

Hope it's fixed. Heck, I'm due for a new computer, anyway. This one is several years old.
:D

It's nice that these things are so reliable and worry-free.

Honestly I'm running Win 10 and it's not that bad. Maybe just run the update.

Another powerful endorsement for W10!

Picked up a Lenovo desktop for the good lady 2 weeks ago. I don't like the Windows 10. It seems like a step backwards from the 7 that I use. Since Gates went on a world tour, it seems that MSFT has been in reverse.

Same week as Princess Dianna.

Nearly indistinguishable except Theresa had a better butt.
