Is Windows Defender/WD that comes with a new PC/laptop with Windows10 sufficient protection from internet predators or would an alternate AV be better? IIRC installing a separate AV program disables WD.

If you are going to exhibit risking online behavior, get something stronger. Adam or K6 will probably have some of the best ideas on that.
If you are a normal user, Microsoft's AV is usually fine.

If you want the Russians to know what you are doing, use Kaspersky. :)

I bought a laptop which I may or may not keep. I don't have any extra unused licenses from my other subscription services. If I keep it [won't be used for porn] it won't be used that much so it looks like Windows Defender is adequate. Is MBytes known to conflict with WD? Will MBytes disable WD?
