Finger food ideas for an outdoor event. Must be able to stand up to possible hot weather ... no utensils ... "walking around" type food. There is no kitchen so all prep work must be able to be done hours before. This is for a law enforcement memorial event. Past years have been bakery cookies. Time to step things up.

I always like those little baby carrots in ranch dressing. I know, it should be kept cold and you're looking for durable stuff.

Roadrunner stew is also great for outdoor events.

Another thing is, tostitos chips with guacamole. Guacamole is pretty durable and easy to make good.

It actually would be possible for me to keep something cool but chips or veg with dip is not really a grab and go type thing. I probably should have clarified the scenario a bit more. There will be a refreshments table where people should be able to grab a drink and a food item and move on. They should be able to walk around with it, not have to stand there to consume it. I'm wondering about something like a dim sum collection.

A dim sum table would be great, but I'm not sure it would appeal to everybody. I would enjoy it very much, though.

Thanks for all of the input so far.

I have been asked to do 2 sweet and 2 savory. For the sweet I'm thinking cheesecake "bites" and perhaps cheating a bit and going with biscotti. For one of the "savory" items I may cheat and do meat and cheese roll bites. Perhaps an asian dumpling for the other. I'd love to do some sort of mini kabob but the set up would make that a difficult item to manage, I think.
